Hi there, fellow runner! Today's agenda will consist of shoes, weather, fun and routes. Talking about routes -- can anybody give me some advice -- I need a wireless router which have ability to connect using l2tp, any ideas about great one? I'm stuck, to be true. There are lots of models from and my technology knowledge is low, i've found one:

It's called D-Link DIR-655 and costs about about 60 dollars, is it a good option? Or should i choose anything else? This one looks nice and to me it has one killer-feature -- it has three antennas wile my old netgear has only one and it's signal is always low. If you please -- tell me (is there anybody else, by the way?) do you know a wireless router, which can:

  1. work with l2tp
  2. have 802.11.n on board
  3. have as less as possible lights
  4. works as good as hell
  5. looks nice
  6. have more then one antenna (does it matter?)
So, getting back to our sweet running theme -- how is it going in your neighborhood? We have hot days since Monday and weather really says -- get out and run. Have you achieved new super results recently? I, to be honest, lost my battle with job and clients, had not even one run since last Saturday. Going to get new shoes -- they always help me to get more motivation, when I get low on it.

Runner's gadgets #1: smartphones and tablets with android

Hi there, fellow runner! You love gadgets? Smart-phones, iphones, tablets or ipads? Can you imagine your day without one? Can you imagine a training without music? And how can you listen to the music if you have no device to play it for you. Airplane flights with no tablet to watch some great movie? No, thanks! Getting back home from work with no tablet to read magazine or no e-book reader to read book? What a crap, no thanks!

So lets say truth -- we are complete addict to gadgets and all that wireless stuff. I've never left home for training without my huawei honor for about two month like i've never left home without motorolla milestone for some time before. Android platform offer so much comfort for our sportsman-hobbyists so I can't stand the passion to use one.

For today my daily gadgets consist of two devices: Acer iconia tab a500 and Huawei Honor smart-phone

They are super-cool and awesome by all means. Huawei runs android 4.0 ice cream sandwich and has beautiful 4.0 inch display with 800x480 pixels resolution, it looks nice on sunny days and you can control your run looking at it even if you run on Sundays an mid day. I use endomondo sports tracker and runkeeper for mapping my run and doing some sort of running log, they are almost equal, but I love runkeeper more. The choice is yours.

On my iconia tablet I don't use any run related apps, but I've installed DroidFit by Jefit Inc. -- it's some sort of e-book on building muscles and it's quite comprehensive.

I'll describe my gadgets later, this time I've just focused on their running and sports capabilities.

Runners' fears!

Troubles, runner can stand!

Why, hello fellow runner! Lets talk about preparing yourself for your first run ever. Or not exactly first, but maybe it's your first race or you stopped all running activities for long time. Let's discuss feelings you can be overwhelmed by in front of this challenge. To be correct from the start these feelings are divided into 2 groups -- wrong feelings and right feelings.

The first group consists of various fears produced by real problems -- like if you haven't bought proper shoes before your first run or you overexercised before the race day. It's a crap! You can fix this next time.

The other group should be handled with care -- it grows inside of black box in your head -- you never know what grows inside, because you can't remember what you have placed inside before. Self-destructive intimidation, for example, can cause really bad results and broken expectations. Try to avoid it, assume that you can't measure how you fit for your situation's demands -- it's not your problem -- you've done everything to perform well an all those measurements are nonsense. Leave fears. Train hard.

Faster runners, who train more and look better

They are all around -- in every place all over the world there are guys and galz who do running better then you can even imagine, never fear this -- you should live with this or change the situation, but get your nose back from clouds -- it will consume much time. I'll continue on this topic later this week, stay tuned.
