Tangerine post!

Hi there, fellow runner. It's quite time to post a tangerine post! You should know that tangerines are a good source of vitamin C, folate and beta-carotene. They also contain some amounts of magnesium and vitamins B1, B2 and B3. And potassium. Also tangerines are full of Lutein and Zeaxanthin. Tangerine oil, like all citrus oils, has limonene as its major ingridient, but also alpha-pinene, myrcene, gamma-terpinene, citronellal, linalool, neral, neryl acetate, geranyl acetate, geraniol, thymol, and carvone.

Tangerines
Tangerines!
Here is the list of chemical stuff, which every tangerine holds in it's depths:
  1. vitamin C
  2. folate
  3. beta-carotene
  4. magnesium
  5. vitamins B1, B2 and B3
  6. potassium
  7. Lutein
  8. Zeaxanthin
  9. limonene
  10. alpha-pinene
  11. myrcene
  12. gamma-terpinene
  13. citronellal
  14. linalool
  15. neral
  16. neryl acetate
  17. geranyl acetate
  18. geraniol
  19. thymol
  20. carvone.
So in this last paragraph I'll tel you the truth: tangerines are tasty and healthy, some scientists even say that tangerine peel contains some substance that prevents diabetes of 2nd type and obesity. Eat tangerines and may the force be wit you!

Skating and struggle against cold

Hi there, fellow runner! It's cold out there, finally, so you can mix up your running with some cute winter sports like skating and skiing. By the way, in Moscow there is one of the greatest in Europe skating parks -- the Gorky park. It's fun and mice there, everybody can lend skates for about 10 USD for 5 hours. And you should leave 50 USD deposit for skates themselves (which is compensated, when you return skates). If you have your skates with you, you only pay 10 and go have fun. By the way, you can sharpen your skates there, it's not too expensive.

Skating is fun
Skating is fun

And by the way, if your toes and fingers are getting white, cold and icy while you are skating, the problem might be hiding in your nutrition -- try to eat more meat, fish and other full of proteins types of food. You might also want some tea, chocolate or cacao -- feel free to consume them too, they will be of help too.

Rasskazy, awesome film (neither design, nor running)

This post is not quite about design or running, but every designer can take some cold and step of the running route for a while, why not to spend some time in cinema? So here in Moscow we have quite a variety of films in theaters, choice is overwhelming! We decided to go to European trade center as they have multiplex cinema there. Halls are called according to European capitals, London, Paris.. We went to Rome. They had new russian film there, "Rasskazy".

Rasskazy
Rasskazy

Main feature of this film is the manner it told in and clean fresh humor. With every new story told you feel different scale, shade and color of slightly sad sens of director's humor. Heroes are being treated carefully, their features are clean and sharp thou their presence on screen is super brief and only last story makes us somewhat close to them. Last story is hilarious! Though, it's really good modern comedy without any piece of over-everything, just juicy fast and fun trip.

Rasskazy, scene from the movie

To be honest to the end -- the story before last, where old woman was and Pushkin's book was too made me fell asleep, but it's not to long )

Soviet design of 1950—1980 exhibition of industrial and graphic design

Soviet design of 1950—1980 is the name of industrial and graphic design exhibition which takes place at Manezh exhibition center. It is held there along with two other exhibitions, one -- Vollar publisher and his artists -- it consists of books and pages with somewhat beautiful but not eye catching illustrations. You should visit it only if going to two other exhibitions and shouldn't expect much.
Second one is called "video holes" and is all about modern media art -- like video films translated in two or more streams captured with different cameras. It's interesting, if I were you, I'll go!

G-shock... They are like hound hunting you down till you face them and have no other option then buy. Absolutely no other option then buy them! Especially if they are Casio g-shock GA-150A. Color is like umm.. gunship or somewhat related. They are much more thinner then my previous GA-100 and GA-110, look much more civil and have nice small black buttons. Displays are clear black and all info is available al any angle and in all lighting conditions. Nice light clock face and thick but sharp hands give adequate contrast so they are a great couple.

The unique 3-D design of these watches creates the appearance as if they've been chiseled out of stone, creating a look of toughness and solid power. Their concave dials with half-gloss finish cast a menacing shadow over their dials and combined with the case and band's metallic colorway give them an edgy, streetwise look. Listen to the music as you run, it helps a lot

Lime splashing into water. Extremely shallow DoF Uploaded by matchstick
Lime splashing into water. Extremely shallow DoF Uploaded by matchstick
So we finally settled matter of training plan down. We are good boys and girls and had done good job. Let's talk about our first or one of those first days when we hit the ground with our newbie running feet. First week of training is quite simple when looking at our timers and thinking on training time. You have only 5-15 minutes a day to run, here is almost nothing to fear. Second week reveals new problems -- you run about 20-40 minutes and you need to fill them with something to let you be happy and not fell asleep.

There are options, as usual. Believe me or nit, but there are many. Some say, that listening to the music is the best one, but here we come to the problem of play-lists -- you have to create ideal one for your every run or you would stop every 3-4 minutes and search for a comfortable tune which really fits your current mood. Many people fell nice and like their own breath as it sounds during training. It's an option for those runners, who breathe right. Or who breath good. Or for those who are going to improve their breathing technique (we'll discuss it later). The third option is to use special tracking software with your smartphone. It will tell you your current training data like speed (average and current), pace (all the same), time, distance and even transmit data from heart-rate monitor if you have one. This dataset will change from program to program, but I use runkeeper with android phone, it works good and I sure as hell may recommend it.

So there are no more options and it's hard. Like a rock. You are free to combine these techniques, like mixing up music and software vocalized training data. It's a bes option so you can listen to your favorite tracks and don't have to constantly check your timer.

As for me, I prefer radio, but there are days when I just run in silence or listen to the software voice in between my ears. By the way. Do you remember your first running gadget? Yesterday I spotted ipod mini 4 gb blue model in local used electronics shop. It's almost like the green mini, which accompanied me while I was making my first steps in the running field. Tomorrow I'll show you some shots of this device.

Weight loss (or just beginner's) running training plan for those with lack of good mood

Looking at the Sea. Sad young man gazing at the sea. Uploaded by SSPIVAK
Looking at the Sea. Sad young man gazing at the sea. Uploaded by SSPIVAK

Who among us had never faced great and almost overwhelming life circumstances? Life is like a game, when played on easy level it brings you just wasted time, neither fun, nor fame and glory. You switch to the harder level and achieve more interest -- you are involved and cam make changes and place your stakes! You can win or loose and what you'll get is a life itself, full of things in it to let you stay captivated through the subscription term. But there are times when life seems harder then it really is. Or just too hard. Sometimes it breaks all your achievements and plans leaving you all alone with no light of hope and surrounded with nightmares from the deepest hell. It's time to get back to foundation and rebuild everything, start with running. It helps.

First of all -- I recommend to run outside, park, wood, street -- it's fun, consume more energy and help you stay motivated -- you'll gel much positive feedback though it sometimes will be a little bit negative. Be prepared to be chased by packs of wild dogs, struggle with the surface and step over your shame. Every run will give you such a great relief...

Believe me or not, but there are only three options for you if you are going to start running. You should create a training plan or use on, already created. You have to adopt one of novice training concepts -- 30 minutes per training, 20 minutes per training or as much as you want whatever per whatever ) And of course you have to buy a pair of nice running shoes.

Let's start with a training plan for today and discuss it later in details as well as running shoes and the problem of choice and beauty. Let's assume that you are going to create a good habit. While creating a habit is not too hard itself, it isn't easy from the other point of view. You might set up one or more supporting habits to empower your motivation. Like paying yourself for every training and or placing some pleasure-like activities after the training.

If you are inventing a plan, you can shift and customize everything in it to fit your work or study timetable. Just take a time slice of 20-30 or whatever minutes a day or two and divide them in two parts -- one for running and one for walking. For example let's assume that you are going to get your first 40 minute run in two weeks, what you should do:

day, week

run (minutes)

walk (minutes)

Monday, week 1 5 35
Tuesday, week 1 10 30
Wednesday, week 1 10 30
Thursday, week 1 15 25
Friday, week 1 10 30
Saturday, week 1 20 20
Sunday, week 1 15+5 (run, then walk, then run again) 20
Monday, week 2 15 25
Tuesday, week 2 5+15 (run, then walk, then run again) 20
Wednesday, week 2 25 15
Thursday, week 2 30 10
Friday, week 2 day off day off
Saturday, week 2 30 10
Sunday, week 2 40 0

Tablet madness is much more trending topic then zombie apocalypse

Yeah, really! I'm sure -- its not zombie apocalypse out there, it's tablet apocalypse. Things are going that way, going along which takes us right to the death under great 1687 inch tablet with ios6, windows 8 and android 4.2 being dropped right from the sky! Sorry, but it's too much: new ipad mini and some new ipod touches which are almost like ipad mini but little bit smaler, kindle fires and asus plus google nexus 7, 10 and 4! You always can refer to warious slates or how are they called now -- windows ipads. Now, when windows 8 and windows phone 8 is here -- who knows how many new shovels will be there in our market!

I know that I know nothing!
I know that I know nothing!
Choice was sweet in the past and now you are surrounded by a bunch of mosquitoes which all can be of help but when compared -- every other device is just a crap!

I dunno what to do ) It's a tablet apocalypse!

Android games 10.29.12: ski safari

Ski safari! Image: Google play
Ski safari! Image: Google play

About this game

Typical "runner" game in two dimensions with cute graphics, sleek movements and beautiful sound (music is captivating too!). If you never met "runner" game before, then I should refer you to google and maybe you have ever seen ios game called jetpack? It's like this game, for me it's a trendsetter in this genre, but it was ios only for quite a long term. So here we have an "android strikes back" alternative. It is packed up to the top with furious yetis, slippery penguins, fast and mighty eagles, vrooming snowmobiles and wolves going down from the slope along with you, riding your super cool ski. The main idea of the game is to get as far as possible down the hill avoiding avalanche going right after you. You start your ride sleeping in your bed in your cabin at the top of the hill, when avalanche begins it's terrible movement! You have to do stunts, combine animals and taxi them on snowmobile to get more points and increase your point multiplier. Also you are going to collect coins to buy some cool stuff and enhancements. During your gameplay, you will open new track and achieve more "vehicles" at your cabin to start your ride with.

Hi there, fellow runner! Today is Tuesday, October 23, end of our world is near, apocalypse is almost there, but Chuck Norris is still here to protect us, so let's go on. Halloween is going closer day after day and here we have some creepy madness in our beloved play market -- I've just discovered cool app (haven't tested it yet, but sure will). App is called "Zombies, Run!" and here is what it all about:

Zombies, Run! is an ultra-immersive running game and audio adventure
You tie your shoes, put on your headphones, take your first steps outside. You’ve barely covered 100 yards when you hear them. They must be close. You can hear every guttural breath, every rattling groan - they’re everywhere. Zombies. There’s only one thing you can do: Run!
Zombies, Run! is an ultra-immersive running game and audio adventure, co-created with award-winning novelist Naomi Alderman. We deliver the story straight to your headphones through orders and voice recordings - and when you get back home, you use the supplies you’ve collected while running to build and grow your base.
You can find out more on this app at it's play store page here.

It looks like normal running application with GPS tracking and all related stuff, but delivers cool zombie story in which you can take part. Run through storyline, collect goods, finish missions and develop your base. It's all about motivation again -- it's autumn out there and nobody sane will ever get nose out of his or hers sweet home to get cold and unfriendly run. The only way is to add some game to your running routine and here some of us are being shocked while faced their complete lack of imagination. And for the rest of us with this lack cool game developers develop such good software.

Awful weather for today! Here's the magic number 9

Hi there, fellow runner!

It's hard to do things when you have handcuffs on even when you are mighty and scary monster with sharp teeth

Hi there, fellow runner! How the things are going today? Mine are well, but I had no running activities for about two last weeks. It's all about laziness, I know. Lets get ready for new running season on runplusdesign.com -- it's almost here. And of course we'll get back to German language and learn it from start to finish (I hope)!
