Hi there, fellow designer. I have some tasty information and pictures for you today. About half a year ago Moscow authorities have announced a contest for design of how new Moscow will develop on new territories. 10 projects were selected for short list. The second round revealed best project -- project by French based company Antoine Grumbach et Associes. This company already had big Paris project in it's portfolio. The winner of contest for developing new governmental center in former Moscow suburbs is United States based company Urban Design Associates. Total cost of the combined project runs around 185 billion Euro.

There no final dates in this project, maybe they are, but they absolutely not public. Only thing we can be sure about is that everything will end due 2047 (900 years jubilee of Moscow). But here in Russia you never can be sure of anything government-related )
  • So we have some foggy details of this super sized adventure:
  • there will be railway circle around Moscow in it's last year borders;
  • trains on this railway wil go at 160 kilometers per hour;
  • one kilometer of this railway will cost about 15 million Euro;
  • there will be new line of moscow metro from city center to Kaluzhsky region;
  • trip on this new super fast metro line will consume as much as 40 minutes;
  • total cost of this new metro line will be about 4,5 billion Euro;
  • after that they will create metro network in between old Moscow borders and new railway circle;
  • total length of this network will be about 550 kilometers;
  • this network will cost a lot -- about 90 million Euro per kilometer and about 50 billion total;
